SCS Challenge - Xmas in Spring - DT Card

Well it's that time of year again..... Oh sorry got a little carried away there.  This year is going soooo fast it almost seems like Christmas is just around the corner and the three sunny days we had last week were our Summer (I Reeeeally hope not).  But it is not too late to make a start on your Xmas card stash, so dust off the snowflakes and get stamping and glittering to your hearts content.

Also as this is the last week of the month then it is your last chance to be included in the draw for 5 digi's of choice from our sponsor.

My new Digi Paper Packs are now available from Secret Crafter for immediate download, no more waiting for your guys lol

I have a confession....  this is not my original card. "Where is is it then?" I hear you cry. In the flippin bin after I spilt a cup of coffee over it while I was trying to take a pikky of it on Thurs nite. "What a silly sausage" you laugh (I can hear you ya know!!)

Sooo very early on Friday morning I got started on another christmas card.  Its a very quick one and looks fab in real life but the quick phone pikky does not do it justice (sorry, but didn't have time to get the studio out lol).

The DP is a digi Echo Park Paper Co - Wintertime from Jessica Sprague.  The fab image is from Secret Crafter Xmas stamps - Christmas Angel is available in polymer or digi download and she has been coloured with Promarkers and Copics and cut out with Nesties.  Finished off with one of my own circle sentiments and scrummy shimmery Secret Crafter Ribbon in Light Blue and Pink.

You really must pop on over to the other gals sites as they have some really fab inspirational cards for your this week

SCS Challenge - Anything But a Card - DT Card

Well this week you will have to get your thinking caps on as we would like you to come up with a project that is not a card.

I have a project on the go which I was hoping to use but as it it not finished I decided to show you a door hanger I have made for a friends hubby.  Bless him, loves to go out with the lads on a rare Friday or Saturday night off work and despite saying "I'm only gonna have one or two" comes home a little worse for wear hahaha.

I found this digi image in my stash from Di's Digi Downloads and thought he was perfect.  I used my Shery K Retro digi papers for the background and PS Elements to digitally create the hanger. I printed it onto a fairly heavy cardstock which I folded in half and stuck together to give it some strength.

I printed the image out again onto Neenah card then coloured with my Copics, then cut it out and stuck it on with some silicone. (I embossed the back of the image so his little tummy sticks out hehe) I was going to use my nesties to cut out the hanger hole then remembered too late and had already stuck the image down (DOH!) so went with a Woodware circle punch instead which I am pleased to say coped very well with two layers of thick card.

My other DT teamies have come up with some simply stunning creations so please pop on over to leave your thoughts.

I'll be back in a bit to pop on my original project once it is finished (nearly done now lol).

SCS Challenge - A Patchwork Background - DT Card

Oooooh what a chilly weekend we have upon us. The grass is no longer green but white with sparkly frost, cold but beautiful.

This weeks challenge has been set by de lovely Jane and is ...
A Patchwork Background

It's a great way to use up all your leftover pieces of background paper.  I cheated a little and punched out squares then found that they didn't fit the piece of lime green cardstock I had cut! (grrr) So ended up having to cut small slices off each square so they did fit lol.

I was looking through all of my images and found this cutie from Dustin Pike.  He is such a talented artist and draws lots of the images for High Hopes stamps.  Have a look throught his blog and you'll find loads of freebies to try out. Also links to his shop and monthly membership details for exclusive images.

My DP is a digi pack from Kay Miller Designs - Its a Spring Thing and it has loads of really good cardmaking elements (the flowers are fab).

Lilly of the Valley provided my sentiment and my Iced Lime seam binding is from The Ribbon Girl

I used the Woodware square punch, lime cardstock and Copics all available from Secret Crafter.

I hope you like and don't forget to pop over to the our other DT members and also welcome our newest members of our team Andie, Beate, Francesca & Kelly
